So this last weekend in May we made an impromtu trip to Ohio to see my Grandma Stephanie, Uncle Richard and Aunt Patti. They are my dad's family and we don't see them much. All the memories I have of my Grandma she has never seemed very happy, she has always been somewhat reserved and she didn't really seem to know how to take care of herself. Thanks to the love and support of my dear aunt she has come such a long way and is completely different than all of my memories. We had such a great time and my grandma was there with all of her great grandkids. Sadly not all of her grand kids could be there but since all the great ones were there we jumped in the car and dashed on over. We were only there for one whole day and boy was it an eventful one. Josh was playing on an air mattress and stepped off and lost his balance and fell and hit his head on a marble window sill. He ended up with a hole in his forehead that went all the way down to the skin that covers the skull. He would make a facial expression or talk and the whole piece of skin on his forehead would move and it would make my stomach turn. He ended up with 11 stiches in his head, 4 on the inside and 7 on the outside. He was such a trooper and did a great job during the whole process. Now the hard part is getting him to be calm enough and not so crazy that he splits it open all over again. (If you look closely at the bottom picture on this post you will notice the hole in his head.)

Ouch!! I also have a very hard time with wounds to their heads. There is always so much more blood when they cut their head open too. It's scary and not fun! I'm glad to hear he dealt with it so well, and that he's doing fine. Good luck keeping the boy from re-opening it, they're all busy little stinkers!
